One of Bangkok's most iconic Buddhist temples, Wat One of Bangkok's most iconic Buddhist temples, Wat Arun is said to be more than 150 years old. Situated on the banks of Chao Praya River, Wat Arun lights up after the sun goes down, making it a very popular spot to watch the sunset in BKK. To get there by metro, take the MRT to Sanam Chai station -- quite possibly the best-looking metro station in all of Bangkok! Sanam Chai is also the station to get down at if you wish to visit the Grand Palace and Wat Pho attractions [FYI, I published this blog post last week... and then got busy with work and Onam festivities. I had not seen it yet and that gave me a reason to finally try Bangkok's canal boat service. Such a cheap and quick way to get from Sukhumvit to the old quarters of Bangkok city. My younger brother @nirupd has gotten really good at making the dough. Sunday night dinner was a ham + olive and a paneer + veggies pizza affair.
